Sterile Wasteland

You Walk from the Shelter to the Lab. You understand that if this Were to go wrong you’d Probably Regret it, But you wouldn’t know until you try, And Curiosity is killing you. After thinking about Blizzard said, You Walk to the door. And you can’t go back now.

The Entrance is completely Chrome White, With an orange Stripe Lengthwise on the wall.You feel horrible because your shoes were dirty.

Walking through the Halls and Corridors, You find that You’re lost. There’s a door infront of you, And you Open it. Inside is a Room, it’s Brightly lit and there’s a Window, It’s opened to one of the Lab Corridors, and there’s someone just sitting in here. He looks like the Anomaly you came across Earlier. He notices you and Quickly jumps to his feet.

He speaks something kinda Gargly and low. You can’t understand him Because he’s speaking a Language you don’t understand. He notices you are Confused. He immediately starts walking towards you. The door’s locked. You are Furiously swearing at the concept of Doors that Magically lock when you close them. He’s basically cornering you, Until..

*knock knock* “EY!”

You look over and you can kinda see the top of a Brown square object through the Window. The Anomaly stops and looks over. You Slip past him and look down From the window.

There’s a very short guy with a bag over his head with holes cut out for Eyes and a Smile. He’s also got a Sterile Jacket with the big zippers, But now you can see that the Logo is Torn out

“What are you doing in there” he sounds tired. “That’s not very Smart”. You shrug He walks over and unlocks the door.

“Standard Friday evening Huh” He’s trying to lighten up the mood. You nod and Add that “doors are just there eh” He asks what you’re even doing in a large Sterile Labyrinth. You shrug

You slightly hear a guy talking on a phone. “Oh S__ it’s that ___ing Square again” Paper bag guy mumbles. “Go tell him he’s a moron for me”

You walk over, and behind a corner, in a Longer hallway, There’s the same guy you saw earlier ( who is much taller than paper bag guy ) With the box on his head. He’s Speaking on his Cut Cord Telephone, but you can’t Quite tell what he’s saying. He’s pacing back and forth and you can tell he Also has eyes and Smile cut into his face.

He notices you and Quickly ends the Call. “Wha- Who are you?!” he, Clearly startledly Stammers. “.... AAaaaaaghhh.. You’re the THIRD GUY that came wandering in here.. ” He dials a number from a Mandatory Rotary phone. He’s talking with someone and Hangs up the call. “...Come with me.” He’s very upset at the Very fact that people Assume that they need to get lost in Video Game Labyrinths.

You trail behind him and he brings you to a Massive room with High Ceilings and Long Cords hanging from the top. There’s a giant Generator-looking thing in the middle of the Room. the generator has alot ( and i mean aLOT ) of Lightning and Electricity coming from the Coils on the bottom, with a Giant Crystal in the center. …It looks like there’s someone inside.

Box guy takes you into a room with a bunch of People wearing hoods and masks. You see quite a few masks, like a Kabuki mask or one of those Disguise ones, But you go to the end at a Door.

The door is to a MASSIVE hallway that’s Wall-to-wall Rooms with large windows to look in them. They’ve got tech that appear to be like Portal frames, And it looks like there’s People inside.. Box guy Speedwalks through the halls. You basically chase after him.

You finally get to the end, Which, Has Infact another door, And it’s a large room with a Person inside. She has Black hair Tied into a Ponytail with Syringes poking out, She’s got a Mask and Sunglasses duo.

There’s a Dentist chair with a Large Operating light Overhead. There’s someone sitting on it, although they don’t seem to be alive. “What? “Did’ya wanna try an’ get shot?” She holds up a Syringe with Mud-like Black liquid. Box guy shakes his head, and Gestures over to you. Muttering about how you’re the third guy lost today. The Mask girl Nods and Gestures toward you “An’, the Human can Come with me.” Box guy stops you before you can follow her. “Hey. Human.” you turn to look at him “uh.. If you maybe sort of kinda see a guy with a Post note on his face… Can you try and stay away..? For your safety.” he gives you a Thumbs-up before going through the door.

The lady with the mask leads you to a large Hallway of rooms. She opens a door labeled “7. YOU BETTER NOT SMOKE”. And Nudges you in. The door Firmly closes behind you, Locking. You take a quick look around and it looks like a Jail Cell. There’s two Bunk-Beds that look old and Moist. There’s a metal Table against the wall and it’s Bolted to the floor. It’s got an old desktop on it, but it looks like the only game that it has is Solitaire, you nearly cry in pain.

The walls are Brick and Yellow. The floor is Cold concrete. There’s Moss growing on the Wall. You consider trying a bite. …There’s Mysterious faded red blotches on the wall.

A little bit later, The door unlocks with a loud Click. Leaving, you see other people being dragged out of their rooms, Unconscious.

Looking on at the ensuing Chaos, You get Pulled off to the Dentist Chair room. It’s Box guy, and judging by his Body Language, Something absolutely horrible is happening, well, that’s what you get from him, Judging by the fact you can’t see his face.

He tells you to wait here. Box runs to the Chrome Experiment rooms. You follow slowly behind. As soon as you get right in the middle of the room, There’s a loud, Blaring alarm sound, and Red flashing lights. There’s a voice telling you to Quickly Evacuate from the Generator room.

You get to the room where all of the mask people were working, but they all left. Box is on a Landline. You can hear him Shakily Warning someone through the phone, He’s looking through the window to the Generator.

You walk over to the window on the other side and look out. You see.. The wolf from the Wanted poster. Luc, You think? And a Hooded guy with a Post note on his face with a Smiley face drawn on it. He’s Pointing a gun at a guy right next to the two of them. You Can’t See The other guy’s face, but his hands are hovering over a large Crank wheel. The Crank wheel has a varying scale of Warnings. “Med. Hi. !Caution! !F—INGDANGER! ” He’s trying to slowly Crank it up past… Danger. He looks over at Post note guy, and then Quickly Cranks it up past danger. Box guy Pulls you away. As you Leave, You can see Postnote guy Shoot the other guy and Run into the room with Luc, As soon as the door shuts behind them, The whole Generator Implodes, and if they didn’t get in there, they would’ve died.

You’re in the Chrome Hallways, Box guy Stops. “Why Were you out there? That was- - You were Almost- - AGGggGGhhhh…. Don’t.. do that! I almost had to clean a Re- Er.. Blue Splotch off of the floor.” you insist it was insanity from the lack of pro-gaming software on the computer in the room. The door Opens to see the Post note guy ( Gun still in hand ) “... Generator glass needs to be Replaced.” He walks past both of you, not even acknowledging the fact that you were in the room. While box is distracted getting the glass, You walk into the room where luc is.

Luc is Dusting his lab coat off, his face looks completely still with shock. You say hello and ask what just happened. “O-oh. haha, w-tha-aha-uh-wasuh-um-was-aha-uh.. Frank. Frank is a… comedian, but Frank is uh.. Not the brightest… haha.” . . . he’s trying to explain it to you like you’re a child. You walk over to the window and look out, but luc is saying that there’s nothing to see out there, Well, there isn’t. Frank is dead but besides that and the power generator being broken, there’s nothing to see. So, out of curiosity, You turn to luc and ask if you’ve seen him before.

The look of Shock dissipates from his face, as he’s trying to place where he’s seen you before, but he shakes his head and says that he hasn’t seen you before. But you insist that you have and say it was “on a poster somewhere”. A look of understanding flashes across his face. “Oh…” he quietly says “that’s, uh.. A long while ago.” he looks directly at you “But i don’t do that anymore, Okay? lets..Nevertalkaboutitagainbecauseidon’twanttorememberthat ” he walks away.

You Walk through the generator room, and now the Power’s down. And you go back to where you came from and there’s Paper bag guy. All of the walls and such are moved besides the Room with the Anomaly in it. Like a Maze, and paper bag guy is standing there and looking confused. You ask him about the exit, but he doesn’t know either. And suddenly he Sighs loudly “it’s that ___ing Square again.” he gestures behind you. Box guy is behind you, looking disappointed. “It's fine, I just wanted you to stay in the room because it was going to do this. I gotcha, follow me.”Instead of letting you follow behind, He grabs your arm and walks toward a bigger area of Hallways ridden with Random rotary landlines. Box is taking you into a bigger chain of hallways as you’re waving bye to Paper bag guy.

You’re both walking through the halls. Your shoes loudly tap across the floor.

…the landlines start ringing.

The only thing you can hear him Mutter “Why did you guys have to Dump them out there??”

He hangs up, And you hear footsteps coming your way, Then you see Luc quickly rushing over, He takes your hand and says “hey there, haha you.. Don’t want to see that aha…” He pulls you away and you can glance out the Window. You can slightly see a Pile of bodies outside… you think?

Luc takes you back to the broken generator and takes you to the other side of the Room through a Door. it’s a Carbon-Copy of the other Hall. He takes you to another Entrance on the other side of the Facility, Although you walk past Sticker face guy and he’s talking to the Mask lady. You hear him mention quietly something about the portal rooms, and about something called “i-72”. You ask luc about it when you’re near the exit. He stops, Looks over at you, Startled. “Where.. Did you…? It’s… uh.. Cl..classified..”

He looks a bit sheepish, Well.. As sheepish as a wolf can look. He takes your hand and brings you to an Exit. “Please, don’t ever bring up the poster again. Thank you, for not pointing a glock at my head. Haha..”

He turns back and goes into the facility, Leaving you there.

You run to the front of the building and find Blizzard and Co.

Blizzard quickly runs over and hugs you, You feel a massive Electric shock just from hugging him. “What happened?! Are you okay?? Were you hurt? Did you get shot at?? Did you get abducted or something?? Did you just–” He lets go, “s-sorry..”

You answer honestly and laugh it off, well. You did. They all just stared at you emptily. You mention i-72 and the mood generally shifts. Fiere starts to cry, Altre hangs his head down. Blizzard looks at you sincerely. “I’m.. sorry.. We’ve got a few skeletons in the closet. Aha…” You all sit in the grass “We’re from Room i-72. A SMIL Test to bring us to the Wovara.. A dead realm that spreads like parasites… we.. our.. World is in danger, and your home by proxy..” you pause. “Riveting.. oOoOh” you say, masking your shock.

You ask about the giant generator.

“...Generator..?” Blizzard repeats in confusion “you mean the Wi-fi router..?” You then are telling him about the room with the high ceilings and Giant glass crystal thing in the center in Detail. You note about the Silhouette of somebody inside. Blizzard glances at altre, Altre glances back and then at fiere, Fiere looks up at you. And all three of them are Staring at you.

“..someone..inside…. Did they, perchance… have a missing leg..? ” Altre is turning his head, confused. You Nod as you recall.

“Were they a Cat….?” Blizzard stammers. You say that you Thought they looked like one. Fiere adds, Stars in her eyes “Do you think He’s-” Altre puts his hand over her mouth “Likely.”

“Very..likely… That seems like something They– no HE, would do..” Altre gets up “You. You need to get stronger. If we have to Seperate you shouldn’t perish in three seconds.” He is trying to get his footing in his dumb lame shoes “ we have the Keys. So Chance, you may say.” you shoot him a ‘what in the absolute heck(ll) does that mean’ Look. “Haha! Altre, you wouldn’t last a MILLISECOND out there!!” Fiere blurts out as Altre glares at her.

“So?” Blizzard is looking at you, Hopefully. “Are you up for it?”

You Nod. Blizzard turns to leave and Fiere Gets chased by Altre right infront of him. You all get to the shelter and the keys get Thrown in your face by Altre. You lead through the Door.
